RECALL: Claudia's Canine Cuisine recalls Hound Cakes for possible mold

Claudia’s Canine Cuisine is voluntarily recalling a lot of its Dogcandy brand of Holiday Hound Cake and Blueberry Hound Cake products because of the possibility of mold.
The recall applies to a single production run of 7.5-ounce Hound Cake products, marked with a best-by date of 08-2015, which has the potential to become moldy. The Blueberry Hound Cake is marked with UPC code 692614010058; the Holiday Hound Cake is marked with UPC code 692614010041.
The dog cakes were manufactured specifically for PetSmart and distributed to approximately 130 PetSmart stores in 36 USA states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
Mold was found on several cakes after they were delivered to PetSmart stores. A company investigation found the products contained a higher moisture content due to the product being packed while still warm.
Claudia’s Canine Cuisine says it has not received any reports of illness associated with the recalled product. Consumers who purchased the recalled dog cake product should return it to the PetSmart store or the manufacturer for a refund. Contact Claudia’s Canine Cuisine with questions at +1.501.851.0002, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST.
