NOP proposes stricter organic petfood qualifications

The United States Department of Agriculture's National Organic Program recently released a recommendation that petfood should not be called organic if it contains vitamins and minerals that are not organic, even if all other ingredients are organic, according to an article.

Samuel Jones, a representative from the NOP, said the issue is on the agenda for the National Organic Standards Board’s April 26-29 meeting.
