UK-based Cranswick Pet Products, a manufacturer of wild bird food and small animal pet food, retained its "A" grade from the British Retail Consortium, following an inspection of its manufacturing facility.
To comply with BRC requirements, the company had to meet 10 key manufacturing requirements, covering everything from processes, to hygiene and safety, to traceability of the ingredients. For an "A" grade, companies are allowed up to nine non-conformances; Cranswick Pet Products says it received just one minor recommendation across the whole site. “We are always looking for ways to improve our business practices, and to be recognized by the BRC for our commitment to quality is fantastic. We aim to maintain these high standards through continued investment in people and our facilities," said James Farnsworth of Cranswick Pet Products.
