Pets Plus USA, an online retailer of natural, holistic dog food, recently launched a new selection of Natural Holistic Dog Food in new flavors with added nutrition.
The new, Pets Plus Natural Holistic Dog Food uses premium petfood ingredients with no fillers or byproducts.
“PetsPlusUSA.com carries the largest selection of holistic, organic & natural petfood. At Pets Plus USA, they believe in providing the best quality food and supplies to pets. They're not only feeding their loved ones better, but ensuring a long happy, healthy life,” said a spokesperson for the company.
Petco is introducing a new, holistic pet food option in addition to offering free training seminars for pet owners and their pets. Petco is carrying Nature's Variety Instinct and Prairie diet pet food lines. Instinct offerings include both raw frozen diets and dry, grain-free foods. The company says its Prairie diet uses whole grains and has a high meat content. Nature's Variety Prairie is also sponsoring free "Family Fun Dog Training Seminars" in October 2011. The 30-minute lessons teach positive training methods and provide participants with a free sample of the Prairie pet food and a coupon for a future purchase.

"The addition of Nature's Variety into our natural food selection, as well as their generous sponsorship of our free training seminars, mean we can continue to provide exceptional products and services to our customers."
Dr. Harvey's holistic pet food company launched a YouTube video series on pet health, as well as the importance of feeding an all-natural pet food diet and using chemical-free pet products.
These videos, which appear on Dr. Harvey's pet food website and on the company's YouTube channel, highlight the company's holistic pet product benefits and the philosophy behind them. The videos include a step-by-step guide on making fresh homemade dog food, along with real pet owners who feed Dr. Harvey's pet food to their pets.
Nature’s Variety added two new members to the holistic pet food company's Nutrition Council.
Susan G. Wynn, DVM, of Georgia Veterinary Specialists, and Lea Stogdale, DVM, of Aesops Veterinary Care, will guide new product formulations under the newly formed Nutrition Council.
“We are committed to providing the best possible life for pets through nutrition, which is why the Nature’s Variety Nutrition Council was formed – to ensure all diets and products developed are true to what our company stands for,” said Reed Howlett, Nature’s Variety CEO. “Our newest members will help us fulfill our stated philosophy.”
Holistic pet food maker Infinia recently introduced its Holistic Dog Food line, with colorful packaging to convey the food's quality to consumers, according to the packaging designer.
The dog food line is available in recipes such as Turkey & Sweet Potato, Chicken & Brown Rice, and Bison & Potato.
"The opportunity with this project was to design an ultra-premium line of pet food that nurtures mind, body and relationship with holistic nutrition. The branding, packaging and point-of-sale materials were created with an artful flair that conveyed richness in ingredients while delivering top-quality nutrition for its customers," said packaging designer, Andrew Pautler, of McCord Design Group. "The Infinia brand was successfully launched through independent retailers eager to stock the new ultra-premium line of pet food. The package design and shelf merchandising systems; as well as retail communication materials all worked together to help launch the contemporary new brand that has been widely accepted by owners and their pets."
Petco announced it will become the first and only national retailer to sell Holistic Select pet food at its retail stores.
Previously, Holistic Select was only sold in pet specialty stores, but it will now be available in all Petco and Unleashed by Petco stores. The petfood line includes dry food, canned food and snacks, for both cats and dogs.
In addition, Holistic Selects will partner with Petco at the following pet events in the United States: Love Your Pet Expo in Redding, California, on April 30; Dogwood Festival in Quincy, Illinois, on April 30; Pedigree in the Park in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 30; PetsJam 2011 in Houston, Texas, on May 7; PetsJam 2011 in Austin, Texas, on May 14; Escondido Sreet Fair in Escondido, California, on May 15; Dog D'Alene in Couer D'Alene, Idaho, on May 15; Wag n Walk in Monterey, California, on May 15; The Great Rescue Roundup in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 21; and Do Dah Day in Birmingham, Alabama, on May 21.
Innova will launch its line of holistic pet food products in all Petco and Unleashed by Petco stores in May 2011.
Innova says its natural, holistic pet food is available as dry food, canned food and treats, for both dogs and cats. In conjunction with the new brand hitting shelves, Petco encourages customers to enter a sweepstakes that asks a variety of multiple choice questions about Innova. Those who answer the questions correctly will be entered for a chance to win the grand prize of a US$5,000 American Express gift card, a US$500 Petco gift card and a one-year supply of Innova pet food.
