WATT eLearning, an online training and continuing education resource for the global petfood industry, announced it has rebranded and will be known as Petfood Industry eLearning, effective immediately. The rebranding of this resource, from WATT Global Media, includes a new name, logo and visual identity.

Second online pet nutrition course receives RACE approval

A second WATT eLearning online pet nutrition course, "Feeding Management during Growth in Dogs and Cats," was recently approved by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards’ Registry of Approved Continuing Education program. Veterinary professionals may enroll in the pet food course to earn four continuing education credits.
"Feeding Management during Growth in Dogs and Cats," developed by Linda P. Case, M.S., provides information about a growing pet’s nutrient and energy needs, selection of a proper diet, and feeding management guidelines that promote good feeding behaviors and support a healthy rate of development. The online course is ideal for pet and veterinary professionals who seek or are professionally required to have a scientific understanding of the unique needs of puppies and kittens between the age of weaning and adulthood. Enrollment includes 60 days of online access and certificate of completion for participants.

Petfood and veterinary professionals can log on to www.wattelearning.com to sign up for immediate access to the course and earn six continuing education credits upon completion.

Building Blocks of Companion Animal Nutrition, developed by Linda P. Case, M.S., owner of AutumnGold Consulting, provides an introduction to the science of companion animal nutrition as well as the nutrient needs of dogs and cats. This specific online course is ideal for petfood and veterinary professionals who are either professionally required or seek to have a scientific understanding of basic nutrients and their functions, companion animal nutrient needs and feeding behaviors. Enrollment includes an accompanying textbook and certificate of completion for participants.

The American Association of Veterinary State Boards’ RACE program was developed to apply uniform standards related to providers and programs of continuing education in veterinary medicine. While continuing education requirements are not standardized among veterinary state boards, many states require continuing education credits for license renewal. This course meets the requirements for six hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB’s RACE approval. However, participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continuing education.

Victam announces new events

Victam recently announced two events—Victam Asia 2010 & FIAAP Asia 2010 and GRAPAS Asia 2010, according to FeedLink .
The former will be held March 3-5 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand, with a greater emphasis on biomass and bio-energy.
GRAPAS Asia 2010 will include suppliers of equipment, technology and ingredients for flour milling and grain and rice processing.
Petfood Forum Asia 2010, a WATT-sponsored conference, will be included in both of the above events.
